Surrounded by trees, the Gafanha da Nazaré Campsite, opened in 1996, is located in Gafanha da Nazaré, being a quiet place, where it´s possible to enjoy nature, indicated for walking or cycling.

It is in a distance of about 5 kilometers of the two beaches from the municipality of Ílhavo, Barra and Costa Nova and at 10 kilometers from the cities of Aveiro and Ílhavo.

Its structure it is consisted of a green space and plan.

Nearby, as places of interest, there is the Barra de Aveiro Fort or the Gafanha Castle, the Lighthouse of Aveiro (or Barra Lighthouse, being the highest Lighthouse in Portugal), the Forte da Barra Lighthouse, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes, the Gafanhoa House, a museological pole of the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo and the ship Museum Santo André, a ship that in times, was a trawling for cod and was transformed into a museum in memory of the cod fishery.
