This unit is located on the northwestern of the Madeira Island, at 10 minutes from the natural pools of Porto Moniz, a building constructed around 1870 by Clemente Ferreira, and later acquired by the municipality of Porto Moniz, in 1987.

The Hostel, offers five rooms, hostel kitchen, living room and internet.

In the proximities, it is possible to enjoy the panoramic routes between Porto Moniz and Santana. There is a great touristic offer in Porto Moniz, with reference to the natural pools and the volcanic rocks that surrounds them, being that his natural heritage presents unique places of unusual beauty.

His pools on the volcanic rocks, connected by cemented pavements, provides beautiful views, between the rocks and boulders worn by the erosion of the sea, that in the same struggle, causing beautiful effects and a characteristic white foam, being the same pools, an image of Porto Moniz and that receives several visitors to the region.

It is also possible to access to the natural heritage of Porto Moniz, by the “Levadas” that explores the Laurissilva Forest, classified by the UNESCO as World Natural Heritage since 1999, having been built all over the centuries for use of the pluvial water on the irrigation of the rough terrain.

It highlights between the same the Levadas da Ribeira, of the Cedros or of the 25 Fontes, which provides unique moments of encounter with the nature. In Porto Moniz, there is also an architectural heritage, which includes the Church of the seventeenth century or of Santa Maria Madalena, as well as the Fort of São João Baptista, which was in ruins, having been recently redone and where works the Madeira Aquarium.
