The Lagoa Youth Hostel, inaugurated in April 2012, it is located in the municipality of Lagoa, at few minutes from the city of Ponta Delgada, in the island of São Miguel, at few meters from the coast, providing, besides the recent and good instalations, a privileged location in the border between the land and the sea, enjoying excellent road access.
The space of the Youth Hostel, accommodates 14 rooms, providing café / bar service, hostelling laundry, cafeteria with terrace, hostelling kitchen, living room, rooms, bicycle rentals, sportive field, parking and free wireless access. The breakfast it is included on the price.
It is still available, a sports center where the hostellers can practice several activities. In the Municipal Swimming Pools, the hostellers can have special discounts.
From the Youth Hostel, it is possible to enjoy the magnificent natural landscape, with highlight to the sea, where are recommended tours and visits to the lagoons or practice water sports such as surf, diving and sportive fishing.
As points of biggest interest in the young city of Lagoa, it highlights the Port of Caloura, the Convent of the Franciscans, the Pottery Factory, the Port of Carneiros, the Macela Natural Park.
Between the historical places of the city of Ponta Delgada, it highlights the Church, the headquarters building of the Alfândega, the Convent of Conceição (actually headquaters of the Açores regional government), of Santo André, of Carmo and of Nossa Senhora da Esperança , the old Jesuit College, the Fort of São Brás (also known as Castle of São Brás), the Church of São Mateus or the Doors of the city.
The visitors can also visit the existing beautiful lagoons in the island of São Miguel, as the Lagoa do Fogo (Lagoa do Fogo), the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, Furnas Lagoa and others.
