With the classification of 4 stars, the Hotel do Mar, it is located in the Villlage of Povoação, at 60 kilometers distance from the city of Ponta Delgada, in the island of São Miguel, being in front of the sea, between two beaches, ensuring the direct access to the sea.
The Hotel provides 34 rooms and two suites, all with private terrace with total or partial view to the sea, wooden floors, bathroom equipped with hairdryer, cable TV, mini bar, air conditioning, and telephone with direct dial to the outside and to Internet. The suite provide a living room, between there are two interconnecting rooms and one with facilities for disabled people.
In the installations of the hotel unit, there is a graceful outdoor space with a heated swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and a terrace. A tower with 360 degree panoramic view over the village and the sea, a games room with billiards, game tables, couches and land chess with giant pieces are part of complementary offerings for the leisure. For the realization of meetings and similar events, it is available a room with the capacity until 80 people, equipped with multimedia equipment and air conditioning.
The bar ” cachalote” with ice cream and coffee shop service works on the ground floor in spacious room which provides terrace, panoramic view of the marina and the bay, a lake with a waterfall and a welcoming fireplace. Adjacent to the Hotel, the Restaurant “Foz da Ribeira”, belonging to the same group, presents a varied international and regional menu. From the facilities available are included two rooms, one of them, with the capacity to 200 people, indicated for the realization of banquets and wedding receptions.
From the hotel, in few minutes, there is the quick access to the golf course of Furnas, or to idyllic places of the island as the location of Furnas with its gardens and thermal spa areas, the Park Terra Nostra, fumaroles, viewpoints, rails or to the Riberira Quente and its beach, to the municipality of the northeast between many others. In the Village, it also highlights the Museum of the Wheat and the Zoological Park of the Village of Povoação, where several species are observed.
