The Grande Hotel de Paris, of 2 stars, installed in a Porto palatial house of eight hundred, was founded in 1877 and it is the oldest hotel of Porto, with origins in 1846, on the French hotel of the Rua da Fábrica, which inherited the place.
Since its foundation, has been preserving the authenticity that makes it a cultural reference and of accommodation of the city of Porto, having the charm of a long and rich experience in the comfort and good serving.
The Hotel has been served by French waiters, Galician and Portuguese, in different generations, having covered three centuries. Since 1999, has been done a restoration work, of preservation of the identity of the hotel and of its historic personality.
Besides the restructuring of the hotel services, have been recovered dozens of pieces of the time, emerging in its wings, a “museum hotel”, evoking memories of random episodes and of famous guests.
The Grande Hotel de Paris it is situated at 400 meters from São Bento railway station, presenting an art deco style and providing rooms with furnishing from the time, as well, as private terraces with view to the center of Porto. All the 45 rooms at the Grand Hotel include central heating. The Wi-Fi access it is available free of charge in the public areas, such as the lobby and the bar.
There are two saloons in the Grand Hotel, where the guests can relax as well as a bar. At the principal Hall Belle Époque, it is served a varied breakfast buffet, which includes sweets and traditional Portuguese cakes. The Grand Hotel has a multilingual library and an exposition saloon.
In the proximities, at 300 meters, there is the Church of Clérigos and at less than 1 km, the Praça da Ribeira, integrated on the World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 1996.
