The Funchal Youth Center it is working since October 1992, having resulted from the restoration of a private residence of the late nineteenth century, with Madeira traditional traces, and later acquired by the Madeira Regional Government to become the establishment of teaching, giving place to the current Couth Center.

At the Youth Center, there are 24 rooms, youth hostel kitchen, living room, meeting rooms, public telephone, internet and parking. Surrounded by an exuberant garden, this hostel, allows to visiting the Funchal.

In Funchal, it is located the Lido Promenade, a leisure area,  surrounded by palm trees and gardens and where there are some of the best salt-water pools on the Madeira Island, besides other activities, allied with restaurants with different types of gastronomy.

It also highlights the old tradition of Funchal, on moving from “Carrinho do Monte,” a kind of old toboggan, which reaches until 48 km/h.

The Funchal presents several leisure and entertainment places, as well as its historical and cultural places, of which, it highlights the Cathedral, the Church and the Monastery of Santa Clara, the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte, the Fortress of São Lourenço, the Church and the Palace of São Pedro, the Church of Santa Maria Maior, the Palace of the Junta Geral, the municipality building, the Fort of Ilhéu and the Fortress of Pico and the several existing museums.
