Created by climbing mountaineers, the Ermida Gerês Camping, it is a Rural Camping Park, located in the Lugar da Ermida, in the parish of Vilar da Veiga, one of the last communal villages, at 10 kilometers from the village of Gerês, being the “Base camp” for all mountain activities in the Serra do Gerês.

Its structure, it is organized into two distinct camping areas, one for caravans and motorhomes and the other for tents. In the same, there are mountain shelters, huts, bivaques (“light” structures, which are small wooden huts) and vip tents.

The purpose of the Park, it is to make known of the ancestral customs and customs, such as the transhumance of cattle, the “goat”, the “wheel” of the goats, the “aviar” of the water, as well as, the “night Lagar “, where it is possible to participate at the process of olive oil and taste it first hand in a typical dish of the village. From the Park, it can be done canoe trips, walking routes and Jeep tours in the Serra do Gerês area.

The village of Ermida da Serra do Gerês, it is a typical Portuguese village, inserted in a region of full of nature, waterfalls and ponds, in the National Park of Peneda Gerês, at 3 kilometers from the cascades of Tahiti, at 4 kilometers from the waterfall of the Arado, at 5.5 kilometers from Pedra Bela and at 8 kilometers from the village of Gerês.
