The Pião Campisite, property of the Clube de Campismo e Caravanismo da Covilhã, has in its genesis the concept of the camping in full nature providing security conditions and a quality service to all who wants to enjoy the fullest contact with the nature.
Being inserted in full Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, this park, it is located on the national road that connects the city of Covilhã to the highest point of continental Portugal, the Tower, at about 4 and 10 km respectively.
Besides its alveoli destined to the tents, auto- caravans, caravans and caravans, still possess two Bungallows and two Mobile Homes of typology, T1, T2 and T2 +1, equipped to provide all the facilities to be in fully tune with the natural environment that this location offers.
This Campsite still provides services such as: bar, swimming pool, living room, games room and Internet access service, besides the normal services of Camping Park as hot water, electricity, between others.
Having this place as a base, it can here focus the discovery of a heritage so vast and rich, from the natural heritage of this beautiful protected area, that for its location provides a real showcase for the different mountain habitats existing on the peninsula, to the fascinating cultural heritage and historic of a big set of unique theme as the transhumance, the history of wool, of the discovery, of the old Jewish quarters between many others.
Being the region that this park it is inserted well supplied from the different services and support infrastructures from public transport (with train station and bus station at about 4 km), restaurants and touristic animation where it can highlights besides several specialized enterprises to the ski resort (at about 10 km), it is possible to find all the conditions for a unique and unforgettable stay.
