The Camping Vasco da Gama, is located on an Ecological Reserve, in the Salgueirinha, on the municipality of Pinhal Novo, at 12 kilometers from the output of the Vasco da Gama Bridge in direction to the city of Setúbal, in the output of Pinhal Novo, being the indicated point for a stay to visit the cities of Lisboa, Setúbal, Palmela and Pinhal Novo, as well Cascais, Oeiras and Sintra.
In the Campsite, there are many shadows, rental of caravans and residential with 1, 2 or 3 rooms, tents and alveoli, alveoli rental of 100 m2 for installation of caravans or residential, large cage with birds, indoor pool and jacuzzi, telephone, bar -cafeteria, restaurant, terrace, ballroom, public barbecues and picnic tables, children´s playground, football field and parking.
Near the Campsite, there is the Salgueirinha Lagoon, a small bird refuge along the motorway, being surrounded by a lot of vegetation, particularly sedges and boards, which makes it very attractive for palustris species.
In the parish of Pinhal Novo, as places of interest, there are the Pinhal Novo train Station and its tiles from 1938, the Largo José Maria dos Santos, the Church of Pinhal Novo and the bandstand. The Parish contains a number of areas classified in the National Ecological Reserve, which stands out the area that extends between the Pinhal Novo and Rio Frio.
The Pinhal Novo ís also, the largest ecological reserve space in the municipality of Palmela, covering the final part of the Salgueirinha Village and focusing on the Brejoeira Bayou Dam.
Nearby, there is the locality of Rio Frio and the respective area, a green corridor between the Natural Reserve of Sado Estuary Nature Reserve of the Tagus Estuary and the Arrábida Natural Park, where it´s possible to make land routes. At the Rio Frio dam, it´s possible to make fishing or water sports. In Rio Frio, it´s also possible to visit the Rio Frio Palace.
