The Pinheiro Campsite it is situated in the Parish of São Mateus, also known as Beach, on the the Caminho do Pinheiro, on the Graciosa Island.
This Campsite is a green space and quiet, with an area of 3000 m2 with capacity for 80 tents, being composed by a house with reception and living room, kitchen (with wood-burning oven) and dining table with 4 tables and leisure area with 8 outdoor tables.
In São Mateus, it highlights as places of interest, its historical center, the Church of the fifteenth century, altered in the nineteenth century, the Misericórdia Church from the sixteenth century, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Guia and of Santo António or of Nossa Senhora dos Remedios, all of the seventeenth century, the empires of Espirito Santo da Praia, of Senhora da Guia and of the Source of Mato, as well, several mills.
In front of the village of São Mateus, there is located the beach islander, a nesting area of important bird species, classified as a Nature Reserve.
