The campsite of Beirã-Marvão, it is located in the Natural Park of Serra de São Mamede, with its 1025 meters of altitude, where it is possible to appreciate the flora and fauna of the region, being the space indicated to discover the Archaeological remains of different prehistoric periods.
From the Camping, it is possible to discover many treasures of the respective protected area, and the Natural Park of the Serra de São Mamede, has five quiet pedestrian paths that allow to observe the respective vegetation, as well as rare species such as the vulture, The otter, the bat and Bonelli’s eagle, the latter one, the symbol of the same Park.
The campsite Beira-Marvão Alentejo, consisting of two areas, rents to its guests, tents of 4 people, but only rented for 2 people, which includes individual sleeping bags and air mattresses. Also, it is possible to rent a tent for 6 people, but only, rent for 4 people, on request, with basic camping equipment. At the Park, there is reception, parking space, washing machine, hand washing tanks, salt water pool, Wi-Fi for unlimited internet access and auto-caravan service.
From the point of view of the architectural heritage, from the Camping, it is possible to visit the parish of Beirã, in the municipality of Marvão, the city of Portalegre, capital of the district, the villages of Castelo de Vide and Nisa, the locality of Flôr da Rosa, the villages of Crato and Alter do Chão, among other points of tourist interest. As far as the Archaeological Heritage it is concerned, it is possible to visit the Ruins of the Roman City of Ammaia, located in San Salvador de Aramenha, Marvão, that gather a valuable booty of the respective archaeological vestiges.
In the vicinity of the campsite, there are several restaurants with traditional Alentejo food that are available to the guests, ranging from the soup of sarapatel, to the cuesta alada, passing through potato crumbs with fried pork, to the stew of Lamb and the delicious desserts, such as apple boleima, candies with chestnut and serasia with plums of Elvas.
